Smoking Issue

8.11.2009/1 11:20

It was easy to stop smoking after my first cancer surgery because I was in hospital for four months. It wasn't difficult at all to go on without cigarettes. I had been smoking over 30 years since those military days.
As it was a couple of years after returning home, I started to smoke little by little again. - How easilly it begins too – and becomes a habit!!
As follows I have been smoking – less than earlier days but anyway – until last Thursday evening. I had my last cigarette (for the time being) during The 10 O'clock News. In other words my non-smoking period is now two days, 13 hours and 20 minutes! What An Achievement! An Issue Of A Man's Height!!

I don't want to brag about the accomplishment because I've so bitterly seen how light it is to restart smoking! And all kinds of compensatory busywork must have been conceived. Panda's licorice tastes even too good, coffeebread must be taken out of freezer a lot, the second snowflake doesn't arrive in time on the ground as I've sweeped the first one etc. Most amusing is the formula I've made with a calculation program: it carries out the time gone from the moment I stopped smoking :D It tells the time even to the second!!
I wonder if I finally have understood the seriousness of the thing – who knows!

I just watched from the telly a program of the 30 years aniversary of the Happy Days. Now my non-smoking period has lasted for two days, 15 hours, 49 minutes and 28 seconds, LOL.
