I did make that phone call to the hospital and instructions were:
- It's okay to take vaccination for A(H1N1) before the initiation of cancer treatment.
- It's okay to take vaccination for A(H1N1) also during the cancer treatment.
So, I will take up the matter next Tuesday in the treatment meeting. I understood it doesn't affect one way or another, if I take the vaccination now or next week.

I went to a blood test in the morning. The results go directly to the university hospital doctor. These were the last tests before the cancer doctor's reception.
In addition, I put different things in order, because I do not know how I can deal with those next week.
I then went to pick up the painkillers from the pharmacy. Swallow has changed during the last couple of weeks more painfull.
Condition is otherwise quite normal - a little weary, perhaps. But there is nothing new in being tired.

One thing keeps me occupied: I do not know what to do with A(H1N1) influenza vaccination. Should it be taken now before the initiation of cancer treatment?
I think I make a phone call to university hospital and ask for it.

I heard about a new cancer diagnosis today.

I've already gone through cancer once before. The first was esophageal cancer six years ago. Cancer surgery was successful at the time, but after surgery, I got plenty of complications, which proved to be very serious. I was 2 ½ months in intensive care after surgery, because I got Legionella bakteria in the hospital. I went through pneumonia for four times.

I lost my ability to exercise fully during the long bed treatment and returning the ability to move toke more than half a year

However, I have been able to live a full life after - retired though at the age of 50. Just a birthday present!

Until such time - a couple of months ago - I began to feel pain in my throat. In particular, cold or hot swallow produced a pain.

So today, I heard the diagnosis.

Of course I felt sad - yet again.

This is not a recurrence of esophageal cancer, but this is a new tumor.

What happens now? I go after a week to the university hospital treatment meeting, which decides on methods of treatment in conjunction with the doctors.

Until then, I try to get used to the idea and I try to get my time to run.

The great thing is that I'll to publish a diary throughout the treatment period. It may be a heavy thing and I hope that I get feedback on the events.
